Polaris Bp4 60 pump is dead. I have a spare 1 hp dohenny pump ?? Can I use this pump

I have a Polaris 380 and BP4-60 pump. The pump motor has gone bad. Smoking and bearings are gone. I do have a spare 1hp circulating pump. Has anyone used a circ pump to run the Polaris 380. Did it or can it harm the 380? Do you guys think this will work instead of forking out 200 plus dollars on a new booster?

Any time that you're using something outside of the specified intended use, you risk damaging anything involved. It's not something I would recommend.
