Total hardness in spa (What is that)

I used a test strip in my spa, what is the total hardness on strip.

Total hardness is the combination of calcium hardness and magnesium hardness, we really only care about Calcium hardness most of the time. This is part of the problem with using test strips vs a quality drop based test kit (many of the cheaper drop based test kits also only test for total hardness). The fact that we tend to call them guess strips is the other big problem with them.
