Convert from baquacil

I have an above ground oval pool - 18' x 36' x 52"

i last sat used sanitizer in mid August and bq shock at the end of August

is is there something I should do prior to closing my pool to enable me to convert in the spring ?

While closing this year don't worry about your chemistry at all. Just close and winterize your equipment as normal and worry about the water clarity next year.

do you recommend I remove the filter sand now or at opening ?

You will need to wait until after you have completed the conversion to swap out the sand. Doing so before you are complete will result in the clumping of the sand this requiring yet another change in sand.
