Pros and cons?

What are the pros and cons of hard plumbing skimmer and return in on an AP?

I would like to do it so it is a cleaner looking installation than the flex hose and I can't really see any drawbacks to it but want to ask. I know there are things this first time pool owner is overlooking.

No leaky hose clamps, longer lasting. If you use valves and unions, make winterizing much easier.

I don't see any other cons than the cost as Isaac mentions. I have an AG and went with flex PVC pipe just to make things a bit easier. I used unions as mentioned so I just break the unions and bring the pipes in for the winter. Being flexible they are easier to store. You may not have those considerations in OK.

The cons are cost and doing the work. I PVC'd everything except skimmer to pump, maybe I'll do that next year...
