    Unhappy No Tank/No Heater

My pool contractor is planning on installing a 400K propane filed heater.
The propane company says we need a tank with 50' of the heater.
Our problem is we have no access to provide a truck to refill.
The propane tank we do have is about 2 football fields away.
    Any comments welcomed!!

There are a lot of options for propane connections, pipe sizes, etc. I suspect the propane company is giving you the stock answer, without giving you options to get around that issue, but the first question is have you considered an electric heat pump?

From what I understand about the heat pump it won't work during the colder months.
We have solar and are wanting the propane heater to extend the season(s) we can use the pool.

How cold does it get there in the winter, and what are the daytime lows vs night time lows

p.s. a quick look at the weather history there makes it look like a heat pump may be viable, although you would need to run it during the warmer daytime hours during Dec and January in all likelihood.

The temp swing can be great...daytime hi's in the winter lo50's and nighttime we will hit freezing temps occasionally but I'd say the average is low 40's hi 30's. That's usually Dec. & Jan.
