We have had to make lots of repairs to our Polaris 380, as it's 10 years old and expected I guess. Now we have a leak we can't seem to get fixed to the booster pump, and that is adding to the inability of the Polaris to really clean the pool well. So...thinking about getting a robot. We are also installing a new vinyl liner this fall, so my question is, what is a good robot for a vinyl liner pool? We don't get much debris in the pool as we only have one tree in the back yard, but we (stupidly) put pea gravel around the outside of our pool decking, and the dogs tend to kick up the rocks and sometimes they go in the pool. I think robots do more "scrubbing", correct? Would that be as bad as it sounds like it would be for a vinyl liner that might have a rock or 2 in the pool?
