Install a Spa light niche into a pool light niche?

I've got a pool light in my Spa. It is quite bright.

    Im wondering a few things:

    1) if I switch to a spa light, will it really knock down the brightness commensurate with the effort?

    2) can I pile cement into the pool light niche and inset a spa light niche without too much trouble?

    3) has anyone done this? Or is this a better job to give to a pool contractor?

    4) can I do the plaster "repair" myself?

    5) will I need to keep the spa empty for a month before I can refill with salt water?

    6) better to wait a few years till I drain, acid wash, and refill?

    7) what am I not thinking about here?

Change the wattage of the bulb, make sure to replace gasket instead of using the old one.

Why not install a dimmer on the switch?

I'm using intellibrite color LEDs so this isn't an option.

I wonder if this is possible. Anyone know if intellibrite color LEDs can be dimmed? Might be a long shot but worth asking the question.

Ah, an Intellibrite LED. Per Pentair's documentation:
THE INTELLIBRITE 5G LED POOL LIGHT AND SPA LIGHT CANNOT BE USED ON A DIMMER CIRCUIT. USING A DIMMER SWITCH WILL RESULT IN PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE LIGHT.

Dimmers are not recommended for use with the intellibrite led. I have put globrite lights in place of large pool lights, requires patching and a transformer. Switching to a spa led would require bonding new light niche.

Wow! Great info! That takes that good idea off the table. Bummer.

Any ideas with respect to my original questions about a smaller niche?

Smaller niche still needs to be bonded, this would mean jack hammering out gunite to expose rebar. So yes you can do it but it is more involved than just sticking the smaller niche inside the larger one.

    PERFECT! this would be awesome.

Now if I could just find someone that would still have one in stock. They seem to have been discontinued years ago. I'm still looking though.

Bummer. No where to be found. Seems this has been obsolete for many years.
