I'm sorry, I can't see what area you're looking at as a stain? Can you circle it or something?

In the relief cut and extending onto the grate.

I think some orange paint for the grate and the rest of the reliefs cuts would do the trick! Why fight nature when you can join it? (I'm kidding, but who knows?)

That looks like rust/iron stain. Some type of acid will clean it if it is rust. Vinegar, ascorbic acid, muriatic acid diluted 2 or 3 to 1, etc. Always add acid to water.
I suspect that it might come back if something metal is rusting. Possibly some rebar or framing iron.
