Mustard Algae, Green Algae Identification

Mustard algae hangs near the bottom of the pool and when brushed will kind of poof away in all directions. Green algae is usually suspended all over the water and attaches to surfaces, too.

If you suspect you have mustard algae, you must first treat like it is regular old green alage first.

A) First perform a regular SLAM: Pool School - SLAM - Shock Level And Maintain
B) Second pass the 3 criteria for the SLAM (after passing the OCLT, having CCs less then 0.5 and clear water)
C) Third raise the FC to mustard levels for 24 hours: Pool School - Chlorine / CYA Chart
