Finally learning how to take care of my own pool.

Hi All,

I have owned a pool for 16 years and am only now getting the hang of maintaining it myself. I had a professional pool service on and off for many years but felt like we were always fighting algae and contending with scaling. We finally refurbished our pool this year and I decided to get serious about maintaining it. So I dove into the TF Pool site and got busy. I ordered a real test kit and started doing daily testing. Since the plaster was new I struggled for a few weeks but now I have a pretty good balance going on. The water is crystal clear, the PH rises about 1 ppm/day and I lose about 2 PPM chlorine/day at around 85 degrees.

So thank you all for this amazing site and all the guidance.
