Murky water

Hi everyone,
I hope the final days of summer treat you well.

I'm 3 weeks past SLAMing my pool and the water is becoming murky.
I've been testing regularly and mainly focusing on keeping FC @ 5.

These are today's test results:
FC=4.5
PH = 8
CYA = 30
AL=130

I havent backwashed in 2 weeks and just did a backwash and rinse cycle.

Can you please advise on how to get it back quickly?

If your filter is clean, lower the pH to 7.4 or so and SLAM your pool.

Brush as much as you can, vacuum as much as you can, keep the filter clean.

That should do it.

How often do you brush and vacuum?

I'm brushing every 3 days and vacuuming once a week.

Did you decide to do a slam? Did your FC ever drop below 4ppm?

Im SLAMing right now.
FC = 14.5 (taking it to 16)
PH = 7.6

Its turned grey / blue so will do the test tonight.

Before this, my FC was as low as 4 only and I was moving it to 5 each time. Its been really hot here so I'm guessing the heat played a part.

No need to test your pH during a slam, btw. You might not be ready for the OCLT, but if you get up early anyway, no harm!

yes, the fc level didnt drop and pool was clear.
