    Lowering TA

All summer long I have been trying to lower my TA to 70. Using the TFP method with muractic acid. Last week my TA was 110 ph 8.2 added acid to lower ph to 7.2. This week TA is 120 and ph is 7.8. Is it normal for the TA to keep rising like ph does?

Like Mr. Bruce, tell us how you got those results.

No. It is not normal for TA to rise naturally.....just the opposite.

    How are you aerating?

My mistake 12 drops of r-0009 x10 equals 120 TA. Swg to areate.

    Re: Lowering TA

The only way TA goes up is by adding baking soda or if you are losing water from your pool and your fill water has higher TA than the pool.
