1) What pool cleaner do you own?
Dirt Devil Pro-V

2) Do you recommend it to others?
Yes, as a budget cleaner

3) What does it do really well?
Gets small debris very well, easy to 'tune' to the available suction, no bags, wheels, etc. Never gets stuck, though my main drain is mostly closed. Good random pattern, gets the whole pool up to the water-line, even gets all but the top step.

4) What does it do NOT so well?
Gets jammed on large debris: twigs, acorns.

This is my first cleaner, $100 after rebate last fall, for the price I figured I couldn't go wrong!

It would be perfect for a pool which only gets small debris, like those living in the desert who mostly get sand/dust in the pool. Not as good for those of us with lots of trees etc. Combined with the $35 "Pool Devil" skimmer, which catches most of the big stuff before it gets waterlogged & sinks, it works well.

1) What pool cleaner do you own? Polaris 360
2) Do you recommend it to others? Yes, but I'm hearing that there are others that might work much better.
3) What does it do really well? (e.g. picks up dust, acorns, climbs walls, steps, etc.) It really picks up all the stuff on the bottom, right down to the small dust/dirt/hair particles that I'm not even seeing in there.
4) What does it do NOT so well? (ditto) I love the quick connect plug. The swivel joints on the hoses are great so that the hose doesn't get all twisted, but I find they leak all the time. It also has a tendency to get stuck near the steps, although every 3 minutes the backup jet kicks in and pulls it free. But I saw someone else post (and I agree) that it spends perhaps too much time floating around the pool from the backup jet, rather than cleaning. I only have a single 2-HP pump for everything and so I find I have to direct almost all of my return water to the cleaner to make it work.

Just FYI, my Pool Cleaner was a 4-wheel pressure-side cleaner, not suction.

Oops ... I thought that 4x meant 4-wheel, and was getting the 4x and the 4-wheel mixed up. So, that section of the summary is a bit goofy. Anyone wanting to purchase The Pool Cleaner (aka Poolvergnuegen) should read the actual posts, instead of the summary.

4x does mean 4-wheel, but The Pool Cleaner has the following three main options, one of which is a pressure-side cleaner:

2x Suction PoolCleanerâ„¢ (this is 2-wheel)
4x Suction PoolCleanerâ„¢ (this is 4-wheel)
Pressure PoolCleanerâ„¢ (this is 4-wheel)

I have been eyeing this thread and want to interject a question.

Does a good pool cleaner scrubs the sides enough so you don't need to routinely brush all the walls?

If so, that would cinch it for me.

thanks

Evan

1) What pool cleaner do you own?
Blue Diamond

2) Do you recommend it to others?
Yes, but I have limited experience with other brands, so the recommendation is somewhat suspect

3) What does it do really well?
Fast, excellent on very small debris, never gets stuck (drain covers or floor returns), cleans the whole pool up to the top of the waterline tile.

4) What does it do NOT so well?
Fails to climb/clean steps or swim-out, still have to manually brush them.

If the robot and its power center are out of the cart, it will fall over from the weight of the handle. I need to add something weighty to the bottom/front of the cart.
