I am thinking of upgrading a summer waves pool to a much bigger sand filter and pump. BUT, I want to locate the pump and filter approximately 70' from the pool. In this next pic the pump would be on the far side of the deck...Ideas? I want to run the piping under the deck above the ground then under the ground from deck to pool. If I go with a 1hp pump would it be able to handle the distance...I dont mind losing some pressure but would like to vacuum too! The skimmer is located about 30' from deck. Its hard to see, but I have a lean-to behind deck that pump would sit under.

I don't see a picture, based on what you described a 1 hp pump should be able to handle that.
