Just lowered my CYA to preferred level, now leaving for 3 days.

Good afternoon TFP, So I just got my CYA under control and we are about to go on a 3 day trip. There will not be anyone around to add bleach. If I am losing 1.5-2 FC per day. Would it be ok to just add maybe 8-10 extra FC the day I leave and let me pump run the regular 8:30-5:00 ? I would prefer not to add pucks to a floater if I can help it. I dont want to replace the CYA that I just got rid of through draining the pool.

What is your current CYA?

My current CYA is 55 .

A that CYA level, I would bring FC up to SLAM value of about 24 ppm or so just before you left.

Your FC will be close to normal when you return and your pool will have been protected.
