I have a Jandy LXi 400 heater (along with the Aqualink PDA-PS4 system) and the LCD screen on the heater is displaying a "Fault - Shorted H2O Sensor" error message. The entire system is a little over 4 years old.
I called Jandy and they said it's likely one of two things:
1. The temp sensor is bad
2. The "board" in the heater is bad
I am hoping it's #1 but I am curious what I can do to troubleshoot this. Jandy won't tell me much to do except "call a service company".
Can I bypass the sensor by connecting the two wires on the temp sensor to see if the error message goes away? I don't care to spend $50 on a new sensor in the event that is not the issue or somehow the new sensor is damaged due to another faulty component. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot are welcome.
