In a couple threads I have seen people mention that eradication of black algae can be helped by rubbing it with chlorinator or skimmer chlorine tablets.

My black algae is under about 8 feet of water...

what's the best way to do this?

I was thinking I could come up with a way to attach a tablet to the end of the pole for my brush.., but I thought that probably someone has already figured out the best solution.

How are most people doing this?

I managed to rub my black algae with a puck.

How long does it take to see a difference?

Is it minutes, hours, days...

if it isn't gone, how long should i wait till i go over it again?

Or, do you just keep rubbing til it's all gone?

thanks

If it's black algae you should see a difference within 24 hrs or less. Sometimes you will have to to go over it several times. If this a large area of algae you may want to try a granular trichlor and broadcast right on to the area. Keep pump off and wait for what for water to settle
