    Main drain valve to filter

    I have a main drain installed in my above ground pool and could not turn it for maintenance.
    i have broken one of the handles and need to replace the valve but have no idea how to do this. I did not install it.
    i need a valve I can manage to turn!

    Welcome to TFP!

    If it is a valve like this they tend to swell and the handles break off
    CMP Ball Valve 25800-151-000. CMP Ball Valve 1 1/2. Swimming Pool Ball Valve.

    Welcome to TFP! Good to have you here

    Can you bung the main drain and the skimmer? If so, you can cut the pipes with the pool full and then replace the valve. PVC plumbing is fairly straight forward. Here's a couple of how-to links:
