    Return pressure

I had a 200lb ranger series sand filter with a jacuzzi slr 1.5hp pump. The filter starting leaking and a buddy of mine had a hayward pro series S244T 300lb sand filter he was not using. I installed it but now I have a very weak return pressure. The filter pressure gauges reads about 22psi. I backwashed and rinsed after the new Sand was installed. What can cause this?

    Re: Return pressure

After some more troubleshooting if the selector valve is in recirculation mode the pressure drops to 14 and has tons of return pressure. Now what?

Also there is not as much flow when on rinse and backwash as usual.

I think I am going to try and swap out the laterals from my old filter. The old filter had larger laterals. The new one has the smaller umbrella style.
