My pool builder's standard package includes a 24 hour timer with freeze protection and GFCI circuit and an AquaRite SWCG. Should I ask to upgrade to the Aqua Plus system? I can't really figure out what that would offer me that the timer doesn't. Please help!

The automation would add valve control, heater control, ability to change pump speeds, light control, solar heater control. Not sure what would apply to your pool.
I highly recommend you get at least a 2 speed pump or maybe a VS pump.

Thanks jblizzle - So the AquaRite doesn't have any automation at all? I will be getting a VS pump. I updated my signature to include the pool details - we are scheduled to start soon.
Definitely get the automation (AquaPlus).
Make sure that the variable speed pump is compatible with the AquaPlus.
The variable speed pump needs to be powered all the time.
The cost of an AquaPlus should not be much more than an AquaRite and timer.
