Black Algae on glass tile pool

Thank you, is this the same for Salt Water? the chart shows SWG 70/80? Sorry still learning :)

I assume I should add around 6 gallons of liquid chlorine to the pool to get the levels up high enough?

Once this circulates out will all the levels be impacted and need to be adjusted?

The SLAM FC level is the same whether you have a SWG or not. You should add your pool details to your signature so it will better help us help you (gallons, filter type, SWG etc). Signature details: Pool School - Read This BEFORE You Post

The SWG part of the chart is what you should use when you are maintaining. For now, keep your CYA where it is (50) and SLAM and .

You have completed the SLAM once you pass all 3 criteria:
1. Water is crystal clear and free of algae
2. CC 0.5 or less
3. You pass the OCLT: Pool School - Perform the Overnight FC Loss Test (OCLT)

Once you complete the SLAM, you will want to get your CYA up to 70 or 80 for your SWG. You should test FC daily to make sure that it stays at the FC target for your CYA. If you have trouble keeping the FC up to target levels, you need to supplement with bleach and increase your SWG % and/or run time.

:goodpost: You don't have anywhere near enough FC to kill algae. You need to do a SLAM and the big part of that is the MAINTAIN. You need to keep the FC at 20 as best you can testing often until you pass the three conditions listed in the SLAM directions.
