Just to start off, I am a rookie...
We bought a house with in ground plaster pool. It's about 20 years old, but the all the pool equipment has been replaced in the last 3 years (heater, filter, pump, etc). We bought the house from an older lady who lived there for the last 40 years. She hadn't used the pool in 10 years, but had paid someone to maintain it weekly year around.
Here is my question. The pool has a newer (~2 years old) gas Rheem heater. The PVC pipe going into the heater and coming out are deformed. Rather than being round, they ave oval (quite a bit). They are 2in pipes, and are about 3/4 inch out of round. It looks like they have high suction applied to them, but looking at the routing from the pump, they should have positive pressure. Any ideas what would cause this?
The PSI gage on the filter is reading ~20 PSI (this is marked within the range for the pool on the gage).
We have had good luck so far with the chemicals, this is the first issue really.
