Polaris PB4-60 Causing Electrical Current in Pool

Help! After turning off all pool equipment and checking the electrical current in the pool with a voltage meter our Polaris pool booster seems to be the culprit of the electrical current in the pool. From the outside of the booster pump all seems to be in tact and grounded. Polaris is operating normally when running. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Also we have had a few thunderstorms in our area since we last swam. Thank you!

Seeing current requires 2 problems. 1. Improper bonding of the pool, water, and equipment. 2. Stray current

Appears you have identified the cause of number 2, but if the bonding was correct, you would not be able to measure a potential in the pool.

Why do you think that the booster pump is the source of the electricity?

If the booster wires were shorting to ground, the pump probably would not work and would trip the breaker.

In any case, don’t allow anyone in the pool until an electrician checks it out.

It only appears to electrify the water when it is running???? Have called a electrician to check it out. No swimming until then. This happened about 2 years ago with the other booster pump as well but the pump wasn't working...so we replaced it. But if I'm understanding everyone correctly no matter what equipment is having issue it should never equal a shock in the pool. Is that correct? And is that a bonding issue?
