Angry Why is my pump not working? Oh...

Noticed my pump wasn't running when I got home from work. That's odd... timer kicks it on at 2pm. Go downstairs and check the timer. Looks good. GFCI is tripped. Hmm... great, electric issue? Reset it and go back out. Still not running. Reset GFCI again and turn timer to manual on position. Head back out and notice this:

What the heck?!... Pool is only a month old. I don't want to believe it but I have a fenced in yard so I'm pretty sure one of my dogs did it.

After some scrambling to call an electrician, they told me to first call a pool store and see if they carry the twist lock replacement cord. Leslie's had a bunch in stock, and $38 later, I replaced it myself.

Big props to Hayward for making the pump power cord so easily serviceable.

Sounds like you need to either block that area off or get some bitter apple or similar product to make the wire unappetizing. At least they did not chew it when it was on

I planned on making something to go around it. Thought it would be for aesthetics rather than necessity though...
