    Help Needed In Rio!

    Quick...someone order the Brazilians a TF100 and a truckload of bleach! (pic came from the Twitter, not me)


    27k IG, vinyl, Sta-Rite Cristal-Flo Sand Filter (T-240BP-1), Pentair Sta-Rite N1-3/4AE 3/4 HP SuperMax, Built in 1997 (new to me in 2013), SWG (Hayward SwimPure Plus)

    So...how much bleach to SLAM a 500,000 gallon pool?
    50,000 gallon plaster in-ground salt pool with two 60 sq ft DE filters, two Intellichlor IC60 SWGs, two Intelliflo VS pumps, two Whisperflo pumps, two Pentair 400K BTU NG heaters, PCC2000 in-floor cleaning system...two everything.

    I think it depends on the CYA of probably 500.....

    only 35 gal to bring it to 6 ppm as they have 0 CYA.

    Well, that should be manageable.

    I wouldn't throw more chlorine in it. Looks like metals to me.

    Anybody got a 55 gallon drum of sequestrant they can have? Maybe more then one.

    News says "sudden decrease of alkalinity". Does that make sense to anyone?

    That looks pretty murky to me. I call algae. I would not believe too much that a Brazilian Olympic or government official says.
