water level not going up after heavy rain?

we get a lot of rain this time of year but the water level does not seem to change. I don't think I have a leak (based on the "bucket" test). Water level goes up after using the garden hose for a few hours. Any idea why?

Sounds like there is an overflow line somewhere. Mine is in a grate in the tile line. Sometimes they are in a skimmer or an autofill can.
