Since the start of the season after today I've added 4lbs of granular stabilizer via the sock method to maintain 30 to 50 ppm. Just wondering from the seasoned pool owners if this sounds pretty average usage?

CYA normally decays at a rate of 2-3 ppm per month, sometimes up to 5 ppm with high FC or high temps. If FC drops below minimum for your CYA, [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA], sometimes bacteria can consume it. Of course, rain, splash out or overflow will lower your cya. I had to add some CYA in the spring and again a week or so ago.
