As a preventative measure, should the shaft seal be replaced on some type of interval?
I understand different variables could apply such as water chemistry, poor priming, amount used, location, etc. I've had pumps before where I waited too long and the bolts sheared off or damaged seal plates, etc. so I had to replace the pump motor anyway.
