Krystal Clear 601 pump

Hey guys!
I finally received my pool filters for my Intex 10 x 30 pool. Not a big pool but is great for my grandkids.
Anyway, blocked the hoses, changed the filter, opened hoses, and water is POURING from the top of my pump. There is a center lid that sits on top of the filter with an outer ring that screws down to tighten. It's not tight, the center piece is very loose.
Have tightened, retightened. Stopped, taken completely apart, etc. Don't see an O ring or gasket laying around....what's the deal? Please help.

There is suppose to be a large o ring gasket between the pump lid, and the pump. Ours had a tendency to fall down in the pump when we would change filters. If it didn't leak before the filter change, it has to have fallen out somewhere.
