I would like to improve the feel of my water. It currently feels hard and seems to pucker the skin on hands fairly quick
How much salt would be suggested ? Or other options

Ph-7.2
Fc-3.5
Cc-0
Alk-90
Cya-50
Cal-200
Salt-1.8
Temp 91

Well, we usually suggest about 2000ppm of slat for the feel. If your 1.8 is the same as 1800ppm, then you are basically already there.

FYI, for a CYA of 50ppm, your FC is too low. You should never let it drop below 4ppm.

Thanks for your reply. I am using aquacheck test strips for salt test. 1.8 was strip reading. = 600 ppm. I usually keep my FC at 8 ppm but i ran out of bleach.
What about adding Borax ? or would you suggest salt ?
Thanks Roallen61

Salt will make a bigger improvement than borate. People are salty and salt in the water makes it feel better to skin and eyes. A saltwater pool has 3500-4000 ppm salt, tears have 9000 ppm salt and the ocean has 35,000 ppm salt.
