SLAMing Spa question

Should the jets be on the whole time you are SLAMing?

if you can get some water to the spa during SLAM it would be good, can you set a valve to 15% or so to the spa? you can also bring it to SLAM level and do them seperate but it could be a pain...

I actually only have a spa. I was concerned there might be algae in the pipes.
