Sand filter sudden pressure drop

Hi all

Normal operating pressure, post backwash, is about 12-14 psi. This morning I noticed that the sand filter was reading 8 psi. I haven't backwashed in a couple of weeks (I don't get much debris).

Any thoughts from the group as to why the pressure would drop suddenly like that?

If the return lines feel like normal pressure, I'd replace gauge before chasing ghost problems like clogs. Sure, there could be an issue but I've chased them myself for a week or more just to find out my gauge was going bad. It started reading low pressure for a long time. Then one day it was very high and didn't return to zero when pump was off. Replaced gauge and all was normal. I go through almost one a season.
