Do I need a solar cover?

About to go on vacation and no one to watch pool and I can't leave filter or SWG running. Plan to SLAM. Would it help to have solar cover? Have mosquito net covering pool now.
Please understand : THE FILTER WILL NOT RUN WHILE I AM GONE

How long will you be gone? I would leave it off, since the cover would lead to an increase in CC. What is CYA concentration?

Plan on being gone abut 8 days. Right now my CC is 0. The CYA is 75

You could take FC to shock level for your CYA, [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA]. A solar cover will significantly reduce FC consumption and will also substantially reduce evaporation and PH rise.
