46, Live in Apache Junction, AZ. Spent 5 years in the Marines and now I test blood for a living.
This is my first pool, had it about 6 1/2 years. Until this year I did little other than checking the PH and CL. Now that my 3 year old is becoming a swimming fanatic I though I'd do a little better.
Water is hard here. I put a softener on the pool which promptly broke (old unit). so it's a manual regen and often missed. When we moved in we titrated the water to over 8000 hardness. It's around 1,000 now. fresh fill was 170. was hoping to keep it at 250.
13k with a small waterfall. 5' in the middle, 3 ends. 48' DE filter and a variable pump. Runs 10 hours a day at 1,500
