My old pump and filter were for an above ground pool and I have an I ground, so I decided to upgrade to a bigger pump and filter. The only issue I have is the new system has 2" fittings and my old system was plumbed for 1-1/2". My question is, can I use a reducer to go from 2" to 1-1/2"?

Many times the adapter that connects to the pump will fit either 1.5" or 2" plumbing. If 2" plumbing, the pipe will slide outside the adapter. With 1.5" plumbing, the pipe will slide inside the adapter. Can you post a link to the pump you're trying to install? The same goes (sometimes) for adapters on the multiport valve on the filter.
