Return jet collar stuck

I have a new house, with a new pool and have noticed an issue with the one and only return in my pool. It appears that the threaded part to a return jet collar broke off and is stuck in the return pipe. Hence making it impossible to attach a new return fitting into the pipe. Was wondering if anyone had any tricks, or ways of getting this piece out. There is nothing sticking out from the pipe to grab hold of with needle nose pliers, and I have tried in vain attempting to turn it by hand. It's stuck in there pretty good.

Not sure how to get it out but a 90 Degree rubber elbow with a hose clamp works in place of the jet if you need something there to create circulation

There is nothing there to clamp a hose onto. There is the face plate, and that's it..

MAy have to replace the return jet... Id wait till pool closing when you lower the water
