    maximum FC

    I'm unsure about the FC target for my pool and the loss due to sunlight. I get sunlight most of the day and can lose up to 6ppm on a really bright day.

    My results
    FC=9.0
    CC=0.0
    ph=7.4
    CH-not tested
    CYA=55

    If my target FC is 7.0 and the min is 5.0 would I be better off to start at 13 ppm in the morning and let it fall to 7 ppm by evening or go higher to 15.0 and know that I won't fall below the target of 7.0? I believe that I have areas of poor circulation since I only have one eyeball return in the whole pool.

    Thank you in advance.

    Yes, you are on the right track. Dose chlorine to keep it above minimum at all times. It is safe to swim up to shock level for your CYA, FC/CYA Chart. That is too much loss for your location and CYA. Seems like something else is up. Have you done an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test?

    Thank you for the link.

    Can I leave the solar cover on during the OCLT or must it stay off of the pool?
