    OCLT - Necessary? Alternative

I always read how performing the OCLT test is necessary but I've never been able to do it. I live in the northern U.S. The sun goes down before I go to bed and rises before I get up (at least during the same months the pool is open). I've always just skipped this test, but am wondering if there is an alternative.

ITs the easiest and best way to check if your water is eating chlorine vs the sun burning it off... Removes a variable

The OCLT is the only way to eliminate the sun as a source of FC loss.

Sounds like you need to set you alarm clock earlier ... for one day ... go back to bed after if you must
