Bleach question

When I'm putting bleach in my pool, how should I be putting it in? I know this is kind of a dumb question, but I've just been pouring it straight from the bottle the amount I need about the middle of the pool (I have a round 18" pool).

Should I be pouring it in front of the return, should I be pouring it in front of the intake? Or does it even matter?

Pouring in front of a return should help distribute it better. That's the idea. But nonetheless I'd reccomend brushing a bit and make sure pump is running for no less that 30 mins to mix it.

I had been pouring mine in at the edge of the pool and I noticed the color lightening up around there. So pouring it in front of the drain slowly is what I would recommend too.
