    About to install SWG, should I be concern with high Phosphate?

    Went to Leslieís and grabbed MA. Only place selling 31.45% near me for $14.99 + tax. Lowes and HD has the 14.5% for less $ but expensive if you do the math! Anyway, I brought my sample just for the kick.
    FC = 3
    TC = 3
    CH = 250
    CYA = 60
    TA = 100
    PH = 7.7
    Copper = 0
    Iron = 0
    TDS = 1000
    Phosphates = 300 ppb (High)

    Leslieís tried to push PhosFree but I declined. I donít think I can test Phosphate level with what I have. I test 2x a day and Iím pretty much aware of the pattern. I donít use other chemicals but LC and MA. Water is crystal clear.

    Öand hereís mine from the same sample
    FC = 3
    CC = 0
    PH = 7.8
    TA = 80
    CH = 250
    CYA = 40
    SALT = 600

    No, we are not concerned with phosphates. Just another excuse to sell you some stuff you don't need.

    They sure do love that stuff. It must have a very high profit margin. Anyway, you've been lurking long enough and have been through Pool School to know you can disregard their results and you don't need to be concerned with phosphates at all.

    1. Continue you current chemical choices.
    2. Rely solely on your own testing.
    3. Make sure you are maintaining a correct FC/CYA ratio.
    4. Prepare to up your CYA to recommended SWG levels.
    5. Make sure your FC is stable before firing up the SWG.
