I want to add borates to my pool tonight but not one of the 8 pool stores around here carry Borate Test Strips. One place said they can test them there with their machine. I figure I can try to put them at 40ppm-45ppm. And bring in a sample to them maybe Friday. My TA is at 80 and pH 7.4 right now. So I guess my question is, are Borates normally at "0"? Thanks

yes, unless you've added some of the borate products like proteam supreme, haviland salt support, etc.
why aren't you shooting for 50? also, tftestkits.net, among other online places, sells the strips.

Strictly BBB here. Only thing I have added to my pool was CYA and bleach so far.Will shoot for 50ppm if there at 0ppm. Thanks
