Is an Intermatic Timer for pump REALLY worth it?

I have been getting quotes of about $200 to install one of these bad boys?

Is it really worth it, or should I just manually turn my pump on and off?

What are peoples opinion on these?

I guess if you are going to be poolside every single day at the require times, nor ever go away for more than a day, no it is not necessary.

I couldn't imagine not having a timer on my pool though. I say well worth it.
