High CC this morning

Good morning! I test everyday at this time of the morning, after my pump has been off all night. I run the pump for an hour in the morning before I run the tests. My FC was 6, as it has been every morning but my CC was 1 today. CYA at 70 and water is clear. Could it be the water is just not mixed good, or should I consider something else??

You should always test after letting the water mix for awhile, 20-30 minutes.

Do an OCLT at ~10 FC tonight to see if you need to SLAM.

Did you check the skimmer, perhaps you have a dead critter in there?

No dead critters this morning. My FC has never dropped below 6. I brush twice a week and vacuum at least that much.

Went to town and left the pump running with SWG off for a couple hours, and came home and retested and CC was 0. FC still at 6.

You are probably fine. You could do an OCLT to confirm, I bet you pass easy.

Thanks Mr. Bruce, I will be doing one tonight. Can I do it at my present level of 6, or do I need to go to 10 on the FC?

10 is better, will show a larger % loss than 5-6. SWG off, pump on!
