Just joined TFP and have learned a lot just reading posts. We're new to owning our pool, installed last fall just in time to winterize and open this spring. Opening was an eye opener in the amount of "stuff" needed to be remove.

Since opening we've been able to get the water to look pretty good though can never get it crystal clear. Always a cloudy haze. We're ordering the TF-100 per recommendations of the board. In the mean time we had the store test with the following result; FC 2, Total Clorine .2 difference from FC (?), CH 230, CYA 40, TA 90, pH 7.7. The store peeps sold us some algae control though doesn't seem to make any difference.

We've been vacuuming daily, back flow daily, shocking weekly, etc. Any suggestions on getting rid of the cloud?

At least a few!

If you can test FC try to keep it around 10 ppm until you get the test kit. If not, add about 3/4 jug of 8.25% bleach daily and keep brushing. When you get your test kit post up some results.

We'll ask you to do this the first night, Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

If you pass great! If not then it will be time to SLAM Process
