First off, a big thank you to the community for all the information here! I just purchased a house that had a pool that had been neglected, had a 100+ CYA level, and a ton of algae. With all the info here I was able to get the swam under control.
Over the last week or so I did a partial drain, SLAMed (Or at least as close as possible without a FAS-DPD kit, which I have now), scrubbed the walls and floor like crazy, put an automatic cleaner in, and balanced the PH.
Measurements from last night:
FC- 5.5
TA- 110
Ph- 7.5
CH- 310
CYA-50
My question is how do I get rid of what looks like algae on the walls? Do I just need to keep scrubbing with a wire brush until it all comes off? Will SLAMing the pool again kill it all?
