Time to Resurface...Gunite or Something New?

We found cracks in gunite which were obviously patched in the past by the previous owners. We knew we were on borrowed time with our pool as it is 30 years old and has never been refinished! Ideally, we would like to patch to get us through the rest of the summer and then look at resurfacing over the winter. We can't decide if we want to go gunite again or one of the Pebble Technology products (Pebble Tec, Pebble Fina, Pebble Sheen, etc.) and were wondering about others experiences.

Also, any tips/experience you can share about patching is also appreciated.

Thanks!

Kristina

Gunite is the concrete material that is generally spraied over a rebar frame to create the structure of your pool. The gunite is finished with plaster. You most likely have a gunite pool finished with plaster.

The vast majority of folks like there enhanced finish. They often "feel" better and look better. But the benefit is they last longer.

So pebble, Quartz, whatever, there are many most folks like the enhanced plasters

Someday I'll figure out all the correct lingo!

Yes… We have a Gunite pool with a plaster finish. Looking to get people opinions and experiences on the different types of finishes they have gone with and what they like, dislike, wish they had gone with, regret going with, etc.
