dormant pool over summer?

Hello, for the first time in 16 years we might not open our in ground pool this summer.

We have a solid cover on it with an automatic water pump.

Do I need to add any chemicals to the water if we decide not to open the pool?

If you are not going to open it, no. Anything you add one time wil be quickly depleted. Just be ready for a swamp when you open next year.

Probably cost me more in chemicals to fix the water than to open it I guess.
