Add DE after replacing an O-Ring?

Quick question. I have a Hayward DE4820 Pro-Grid and it was leaking out of the MAR assembly. I just got the two O rings I need and hopefully that will do the trick. My pool was up and running for a week until I needed this fix and another. I emptied the water out of the Pro-Grid through taking out the bottom screw cap to do these fixes. The filter grids still look to be coated with DE. The question is: do I need to wash out all of the DE and start over, or can I replace the O rings, put the filter back together and start up the pump as normal without adding any more DE? Thank you.

When was the last time you did a full tear down and grid cleaning? If you have not done it this year, I would do that and start fresh.

I soaked the grids in powdered dish washer soap and washed it a couple of weeks ago before I opened the pool. Just looking to save some time and DE if I can.

Ah, yeah then a full cleaning would be overkill.

Did you see much DE come out when you drained the filter? If not, I might just let it ride.

Some was definitely in the water, but the grids themselves are caked. Thank you for the advice!
