My pool came with a standard white resin covered ladder. Well after a few years, the resin cracked and broke off where it anchors into the pool deck. My wife would like to get a metal replacement one. I too would like a metal one as I won't have to deal with the resin cracking. My concern though is they may rust because the pool is salt water. Any advice?

I would imagine that any non coated metal ladders would have to be made of stainless steel and therefore wouldn't rust.
One reason to stay with a metal ladder is that they are marginally safer. They don't conduct electricity. So while the metal slot it fits into is bonded, the non conductive ladder is not.
