Filtering through pool builders sales pitch vs. the info on this forum

So i am about to take the task of building my new pool, and everything i thought i knew has been turned upside down after reading so much on this site. Two questions:
1. Where can i learn out to start my build-thread so that i can maybe get insight from all the members here.
2. During my process of meeting with several builders, they want to sell me a system with a cartridge filter, U/V System, and Ozone system. They claim that with this setup, i will be able to keep my Chlorine level at .5-1 PPM with clear water. I'm in Spring TX (Houston). Thoughts?

You should start a new thread in the Under Construction Forum to ask all questions about your build. Unless this is an indoor pool.....that U/V and ozone system is a waste of time and money.
